There are several layers of causes behind poor sleep, but the primary one is simply that we are not getting enough daytime signal, through natural light (or use of SAD lamps for those that can’t access the sun) into our circadian clock during the daytime. And then at night we are getting far too much daytime signals from all of the modern artificial lighting sources (indoor lighting, TVs, computer screens, cell phones, tablets), when we should not be receiving these signals at all once the sun has set. We all know how to improve this situation, it takes very little effort on our part when you consider the huge, life enhancing  rewards!
